EDEC 404 Student Teaching in Early Childhood I/T

This course requires 150-200 hours of student teaching in an infant and/or toddler setting during 10 weeks of the semester. Students apply knowledge, skills, and understanding about young children’s development and learning as they immerse themselves in the early childhood environment. Local programs/schools serve as student teaching placements. The supervising faculty and the site supervisor assess the candidate’s performance throughout the semester. Early childhood faculty, in collaboration with the office of school and community partnerships, oversee field placements. Students should be expected to arrange for their own travel to and from their student teaching sites.
