HIST 330 Women and Gender in Early US

Girls and women influenced work and economics, public spaces, and politics as well as households and childrearing, despite the inability to vote or run for office. Study the ways they contributed to society and pushed the US closer to its ideals of equality. Course examines changes and consistencies for girls and women across race, class, geography, and citizenship as the US intensified its reach as a nation. Faculty select a theme to analyze the history.
